Privacy policy
In short
Your profile data stays in your browser. Your resume text leaves your browser only when you use an AI feature. That is a section rewrite or a cover-letter draft in Pro. We do not sell data.
What the extension reads
The extension reads your own LinkedIn® profile page when you click the extension button. It reads that page only. If you open the "Show all" page of a section and read it, the extension reads that page too. It does not read other people's profiles.
Where your data is stored
Your profile data stays in the storage of the extension in your browser. The PDF and Word files are made in your browser. We do not receive them.
When data leaves your browser
AI rewrite is off by default. When you turn on AI for a section, the extension sends the text of that section. It goes to our server and to an AI model provider. Our server keeps no copy of the text. The AI model provider handles it under its own data policy. Other sections stay in your browser.
Pro, the paid version, has a cover-letter draft. It is not available yet. When you ask for a draft, the extension sends your resume and the job description that you pasted. The resume part contains your name, headline, location, About text and the sections and entries that you did not hide. It goes to our server and to an AI model provider. Our server keeps no copy of the text. The AI model provider handles it under its own data policy.
The extension sends usage events without profile text to our analytics server. The popup tells you this before you read a page. We do not sell data.
Permissions the extension asks for
Access to the active tab: to read the profile page that is open when you click the extension button.
Scripting: to run the reader on that page.
Storage: to keep your resume draft in your browser.
Access to our API server: the extension asks for it only when you use AI. That is a section rewrite or a cover-letter draft.
